A 2024 review by Zidoun et al., published in PMC (PMC11539326), examines AI-based simulators as an emerging approach in healthcare simulation and how they compare with traditional simulation methods for creating realistic training scenarios — this is Class 1 territory, clinical training, not aesthetic outcome prediction. HealthySimulation.com, the industry's main trade publication, covers AI in healthcare simulation primarily from the same training-and-education angle. Independent published evidence specifically validating generative aesthetic outcome simulators (Class 2) against real surgical results is thinner in the public literature — a genuine gap in the category, not something to paper over with an invented statistic.
AI medical simulators in the UAE and Saudi Arabia
Both classes of tool operate under real regulatory context in the Gulf that's worth knowing before adopting one:
- The Abu Dhabi Department of Health's Responsible AI Standard (effective October 2025) sets requirements for licensed healthcare entities in Abu Dhabi using AI, including data-residency and human-oversight expectations.

- Validation — what evidence exists that the output is accurate for its stated purpose?
- Data residency — where are patient photos or training data actually processed and stored?
- Arabic support — genuine right-to-left support, or an English tool with a translated skin?
- Human oversight — does the tool make a decision, or does it support a clinician who still makes the decision?
- Explainability — can the vendor explain how the output was generated, or is it an opaque black box?
